Bio:

Rachael DeMars is a photographer and aspiring graphic designer working in the field of digital media since 2024. She attended Hudson Valley Community College in upstate New York and graduated in May with an associate’s degree.

Miss DeMars is currently working in photography. She is a freelance photographer
who takes photos for clients that includes couples’ photography, portraits,

She develops her own style by taking landscape photos making them look surreal using Light Room Classic to edit her photos.

Miss DeMars attended an internship at the Arts Center of the Capital Region in Troy NY. Here she used her digital marketing skills and adverised for the Arts Center. She took photographs of the events and classes, editing those photos, and made posters to promote the Arts Center.

Miss DeMars uses her free time by volunteering for her high school’s drama club
which she was in for multiple years prior to her graduation. She currently is the assistant director, helping direct the musicals every year.

Artist Statement:

In my projects I tend to work on landscape photography. In my work I use a limited color palette. When working on projects I default to using warm colors and pastel pinks and purples. I also use the vignette filter when editing photos. For me and for clients I believe that is a great tool to work with because it makes the subject your center focus and paints a beautiful picture.  What motivates me to complete my work is that I want my client to have the best possible work in something they love. Knowing that I can provide engaging visuals for my clients makes me extremely motivated. In my projects I set goals to help the viewers see what I want them to. Some of these goals may be in the way I edit my photos and others may be to put my best effort into all of my projects. Examples of this would be choosing what color pallet I am going to use for a specific photo like in the summertime I like to choose a green and yellow color pallet to produce works that are very vibrant. I also take many photos of one subject to ensure that I have the photo with the best work like taking over fifty photos of an animal to ensure I have the perfect photo to edit later.
